ARCADIA, Calif. - Habibti, the winner of two major stakes for 2-year-old fillies in 2001, has been retired after a series of disappointing races, according to Richard Mulhall, the racing manager for The Thoroughbred Corp.

Habibti, 4, ends her career with 3 wins in 11 starts and earnings of $564,851. In her final start, she finished seventh in the La Brea Stakes at Santa Anita on Dec. 28.

At 2, Habibti won the Del Mar Debutante and Hollywood Starlet. Last year, she was winless in seven starts, but ran second in the Santa Anita Oaks and Las Virgenes Stakes and third in the Kentucky Oaks.

Mulhall said no stallion mating has been finalized for Habibti but that Point Given and Gone West were possibilities.
