Gulfstream Park will host 2015 Fasig-Tipton sale of 2-year-olds

Gulfstream Park and Fasig-Tipton announced Friday that the Hallandale, Fla., track would host Fasig-Tipton’s selected 2-year-olds in training sale in 2015. The one-day juvenile auction is scheduled for March 4.

The Fasig-Tipton Florida sale was held at Gulfstream owner Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs South complex in Willston, Fla., last spring. The 2015 renewal will feature an under-tack show held on Gulfstream’s main track, set for March 2.

“We’re very excited about playing host to Fasig-Tipton’s selected 2-year-olds in training sale at Gulfstream during the peak of our championship meet,” said Tim Ritvo, president of Gulfstream Park, in a release. “The home of the world’s finest Thoroughbreds and Hall of Fame horsemen and jockeys will also be the home of the sport’s next generation of stars.”

“This promises to be the start of an exciting era for our 2-year-old sales in Florida,” said Boyd Browning, president of Fasig-Tipton. “Horses like [juvenile Grade 1 winner] Competitive Edge and [juvenile Grade 2 winner] I Spent It, both from our 2014 sale, demonstrate the high caliber of our sale’s graduates. We look forward to a long-term relationship with Gulfstream Park.”
