Gulfstream Park: Rosario gets three-day suspension

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - The stewards handed leading rider Joel Rosario a three-day suspension for his ride aboard Fog Happens in Friday’s 10th race. Fog Happens was disqualified from first and placed fourth for interfering with The Marikutana near midstretch in the maiden race on the grass.

Rosario’s agent, Ron Anderson, said his rider will serve his begin serving his days on Friday.

Rosario enters Wednesday’s program with 15 victories, seven more than his closest pursuers, Luis Saez, Joe Rocco Jr. and Jose Lezcano, who are deadlocked for second with eight wins apiece.

Luis Saez has dominated @ Calder the last 2 yrs. He has changed agents and is headed to NY after Gulfstream closes. "Little Louie" has ridden for us, and is an excellent rider!

I think it is surprising to see names like Saez and Rocco Jr. ahead of names like Castellano, Velasquez, Lopez and Lanerie but it is still early and with such a long season in Hallandale I am confident when the hoofs have stopped falling we will see the normal cast of characters exactly where they usually are. Afterall, TAP can't send them all out at once and Johnny V is taking a little time to recharge before the big stakes start but rest assured normalcy will be restored at Gulfstream in the not to distant future. Bet on it!
