Gulfstream Park: Heavenly Landing on a roll in Suwannee River

Heavenly Landing, winner of the Grade 3 Marshua’s River, brings a three-race win streak to the Grade 3, $150,000, Suwannee River.

Multiple Grade 3 winner Denomination and Heavenly Landing, upset winner of the Grade 3 Marshua’s River here Jan. 7, should draw most of the attention in the Grade 3, $150,000, Suwannee River.

Denomination won Tampa Bay Downs’ Hillsborough and Belmont’s Athenia in 2011, although she did disappoint when closing out the year finishing a tiring fourth as the 3-5 favorite in Calder’s Grade 3 My Charmer.

Heavenly Landing overcame some traffic issues through the stretch to post a narrow victory in the Marshua’s River. The win was the third straight for Heavenly Landing who is trained by Eddie Kenneally.

“Her last race was by far her best,” Kenneally said. “She’s an improving filly and has done well since the Marshua’s River.”
