HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Trainer Bill Mott not only won all three graded stakes decided here this past weekend, he also sent out the up-and-coming older horse Cigar Street to an impressive allowance win Sunday. Cigar Street led throughout to register a 2 1/2-length decision over Big Screen going 1 1/8 miles for his second straight victory since returning from nearly nine months on the sidelines due to a hairline fracture in his right hind ankle. “It looked like he did it pretty easily, and I liked the way he just kept going when those other horses started breathing on him,” Mott said. “He just gave you a little more and a little more.” Mott said Cigar Street needs to take a step up in class in his next start and mentioned the Grade 3 Skip Away here at the end of the meet along with the Oaklawn Handicap as possible options.
