Gulfstream: Boys At Tosconova on target

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Boys At Tosconova, who is entered along with stablemate Trickmeister in Saturday’s Harlan’s Holiday overnight stakes, continues to train well since shipping to Florida from New York with trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. last month. Boys at Tosconova worked six furlongs in 1:14.60 and galloped out seven-eighths in 1:29.20 over a very fast track at Gulfstream Park Wednesday

The 1 1/16-mile Harlan’s Holiday drew a field of eight that also includes Duke of Mischief, who will make his first start since finishing a distant 10th in the Grade 1 Whitney.

Bullet for Capt. Candyman Can

Capt. Candyman Can, winner of the 2009 Hutcheson, posted the bullet work for five furlongs Wednesday at Palm Meadows, covering the distance in 1:00 for trainer Ian Wilkes. Capt. Candyman Can started only four times this season, winning twice including the Sir Shackleton Handicap here on April 3. Capt. Candyman Can, a son of Candy Ride, has not run since finishing third in the Grade 3 Aristides at Churchill Downs on June 4.
