Group 1 winner French Fifteen has been retired and will enter stud next year at Haras du Logis Saint Germain in Normandy, France. The 4-year-old Turtle Bowl colt was a multiple stakes winner in France as a juvenile, capturing the 2011 Group 1 Criterium International for his signature victory and also finishing second in the Group 3 Prix Thomas Bryon. The following season, French Fifteen won the Group 3 Prix Djebel and finished a close second to champion Camelot in the English 2,000 Guineas. He concluded his career with six wins from 13 starts and earnings of $500,662. Bred by Gilles and Aliette Forien, French Fifteen is one of four winners out of the winning Ashkalani mare Spring Morning. The mare is a half-sister to stakes winner and productive broodmare Zaydiya, and to three other stakes-placed winners. It is the family of European Horse of the Year Zarkava, winner of the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe; French Oaks winner Zainta; and South African Horse of the Year Igugu.
