MUSKEGON, Mich. - Jockey Joe Judice rode his 3,000th winner Tuesday evening when he booted home two winners at Great Lakes Downs. The 41-year-old veteran was joined by the jockey colony and well-wishers in the winner's circle following his handy win aboard Privateer in the seventh race. He also won the fifth race with Tate Express.

Judice, a native of New Orleans, is second in the local standings, trailing Freddie Mata 80-75 through Tuesday's racing. He is ranked fifth in the nation with 182 wins. Judice arrived late at this meeting, as he stayed at Tampa Bay Downs to claim the riding title there.

* Suzanne J. Vandersalm won her first race as a trainer on Friday and did it in style by repeating three races later. She tightened the girth on Tank's Lil Brother in the fifth and Hestosmartforyou in the eighth. Jeff Faul was aboard both winners, which are owned by Vandersalm She also bred Tank's Lil Brother.
