Grand Slam filly tops sale work tab

LEXINGTON, Ky. - A Grand Slam filly breezed a quarter-mile in 20.80 seconds to top the worktab at Monday's final under-tack show for the April 16 Keeneland select 2-year-old sale in Lexington.

The filly, a daughter of the stakes-placed Cozzene mare Voluptuous, is in Asmussen Horse Center's consignment and sells as hip 92. She will be sold on behalf of Grunwald Racing LLC.

Monday's fastest eighth-mile worker was hip 156, a Smart Strike filly out of Grade 3-placed Dior's Angel (Fight Over), who stopped the clock in 10.20. H.T. Stables will offer the filly for client North Wales Farm LLC.

Claiborne Farm's hip 107, a daughter of Pulpit and the stakes-winning Housebuster mare Aces, was the day's fastest juvenile over three furlongs, covering the distance in 33.40.

On the turf course, four young horses tied for the top eighth-mile time of 10.40. They were hip 129, a Red Ransom-Brittan Lee filly in Robert Scanlon's consignment; hip 135, a Cherokee Run-Channel Three filly consigned by Donna Wormser, agent; hip 181, a Deputy Commander-Go Kathy Go colt offered through William Harrigan's agency; and hip 216, a Silver Deputy-Lite Light filly that Niall Brenna, agent, wil sell on behalf of Foxfield.

Hip 23, a Coronado's Quest-Reluctant Diva filly, ran the fastest quarter-mile turf work, breezing in 21.20.
