Grand Adventure, Exhi take Woodbine stakes

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Grand Adventure put away favored Get Stormy in the stretch en route to a handy score in the at Woodbine on Sunday.

Grand Adventure pressed a moderate pace on the outside under Patrick Husbands, before taking control early in the stretch. He held off a closing Rahy s Attorney in the final 70 yards prevail by a length, in a time of 1:36.40, over a soggy course labeled as good. Ice Bear finished third, and Get Stormy faded to fourth in the nine-horse field.

For capturing his second straight graded stakes, Grand Adventure banked $180,000 for Sam-Son Farm and trainer Mark Frostad. He paid $6.90.

Exhi wins fourth straight stakes

Odds-on Exhi defeated three other 3-year-olds while winning his fourth stakes in a row in Sunday's . Trained by Todd Pletcher, Exhi led all the way to score by eight lengths under Robby Albarado, completing the nine furlongs in 1:50.60. Exhi paid $2.50.

"He broke really sharp," said Albarado. "Being in the outside post, I was able to dictate what I wanted to do. He went very easy the first quarter. The second quarter went a little quicker, but he relaxed a little the middle of the backside. He was content, and came home nicely.
