JoAnn and Alex Lieblong’s Telling, winner of the Sword Dancer Invitational in 2009 and 2010, will enter stud this year at Stonewall Farm Ocala, the Florida farm confirmed Friday. The 8-year-old A. P. Indy horse will stand for $6,500 stands and nurses, with special consideration given to out-of-state mares. In addition to his two Grade 1 wins, Telling placed in five stakes, three of them Grade 3 events. He had been targeting the recent Grade 2 Mac Diarmida at Gulfstream but missed the race due to a suspensory problem. He retired with wins in 6 of 28 starts and $848,409 in earnings. Telling is out of the Grade 1-winning Deputy Minister mare Well Chosen, who also is the dam of the stakes-placed Bernardini filly My Assets.
