The 2-year-old gelding Goodoldhockeygame won his second straight start to begin his career, taking down the Bull Page Stakes on Saturday at Woodbine.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Goodoldhockeygame came on strongly under a patient ride from Patrick Husbands to capture the $125,000 Bull Page Stakes on Saturday at Woodbine.

Seffeara, the 4-5 favorite, dueled with Where’s the Widget through honest fractions in the six-furlong sprint for Ontario-sired male 2-year-olds. Phil’s Cocktail stalked in third, and Goodoldhockeygame saved ground in fourth on the turn before closing along the rail to prevail by 1 1/4 lengths.

After getting bumped at the break, Super Colerosa closed wide from sixth to edge out Seffeara for second in the seven-horse field. The final time was 1:09.81.

Goodoldhockeygame ($8.30) earned $75,000. He is unbeaten in two starts for owner-breeder Frank DiGiulio Jr. and trainer Bob Tiller, who won the 1988 Bull Page with the gelding’s broodmare sire, Domasca Dan.

“He’s still a green horse,” Tiller said. “I don’t think you’ve seen his best. He should improve. He’s a big, long-striding [gelding]. We’ve liked him from day one.”
