Good Lord held off a late charge by Page McKenney to win the $130,000 Mountaineer Mile for the second time Saturday night at Mountaineer Racetrack. Sent to the front by jockey Ricardo Feliciano, the 7-year-old Good Lord ($9.20) was a length in front with a furlong remaining and was all-out to reach the wire a neck in front of 9-1 outsider Page McKenney, who had won stakes in two of his last three starts. It was another 1 1/4 lengths to Dawly, the 2-1 favorite. The winning time on a fast track was 1:38.68. Good Lord, based at Churchill Downs with trainer Forrest Kaelin, won the 2012 running of the Mountaineer Mile, but was a distance third last year over a muddy track. Overall, he has won 14 of 63 starts and $743,724.
