Gone West filly fastest at F-T

Hip No. 274, a Gone West-Verbasle filly posted the fastest quarter-mile work in 21.20 seconds at the first under-tack preview Sunday for Fasig-Tipton's Feb. 26 select juvenile sale at Calder.

Nine other juveniles preparing for the auction at Calder breezed the day's fastest eighth-mile time of 10.20 seconds.

Hip No. 274, the Gone West filly, is a half-sister to stakes-winner Smokey Mirage and is in the Leprechaun Racing consignment.

The nine 2-year-olds who topped the eighth-mile work tab included one filly and eight colts. The filly, a daughter of Holy Bull-In the Till selling as Hip No. 98 is a half-sister to stakes-performers Tina Dynamite and Yukon Dust. Donna Wormser, agent, sells.

Others to stop the clock in 10.20 seconds included Hip No. 101, a Silver Deputy-I Think Not colt from agent Bobby Scanlon's barn, and Scanlon's Hip No. 179, a Phone Trick-Pert Lady colt.
