INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Gone Rebel led throughout Sunday’s $60,080 Anoakia Stakes for 2-year-old fillies at Hollywood Park to win her first stakes and provide further evidence of the strength of the Grade 1 Darley Debutante at Del Mar on Sept. 4.

Gone Rebel was last of 10th in the Darley Debutante and is the fourth filly from that field to subsequently win a stakes. Debutante runner-up Wickedly Perfect returned to win the Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes at Keeneland, while third-place finisher Rigoletta won the Grade 1 Oak Leaf Stakes here and fifth-place finisher A Z Warrior won the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes at Belmont Park.

Another runner from that race, sixth-place finisher Sugarinthemorning, returned to win an allowance race at Hollywood Park earlier this month.

In the Anoakia, Gone Rebel ($7) finished three-quarters of a length in front of 4-5 favorite Tales In Excess, who was second throughout. Ridden by Patrick Valenzuela, Gone Rebel set early fractions of 22.12 and 45.52 seconds, leading by as much as 2 1/2 lengths in the stretch. Gone Rebel ran six furlongs in 1:10.38.

“She broke a half-step slow, and she got into the race right away,” Valenzuela said. “She ran a good race.”

Owned by David and Holly Wilson, Gone Rebel has won 2 of 5 starts and $57,900. Trainer Vladimir Cerin said she will be pointed for the $250,000 Louisiana Jewel Stakes for Louisiana-bred filllies over a mile at Delta Downs on Nov. 20.
