Golden Horn, the winner of Sunday’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and a possible contender for this year’s Breeders’ Cup Turf, will stand at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket, England beginning in 2016. A fee will be announced at a later time.

The 3-year-old son of Cape Cross has won seven of eight lifetime starts for earnings of $6,058,454, with other notable wins including the Group 1 Investec Derby and Coral Eclipse Stakes in England and the Irish Champion Stakes in Ireland, as well as the English Group 2 Dante Stakes.

Golden Horn races for owner Anthony Oppenheimer and trainer John Gosden. Oppenheimer will retain a 50 percent interest in the partnership with Sheikh Mohammed Al-Maktoum.

“It is wonderful that Darley has bought into this great champion and we are thrilled that Mr .Oppenheimer has decided that Dalham Hall Stud is where Golden Horn will get the best opportunity of becoming the great stallion we believe he can be,” said Sam Bullard, director of stallion at Dalham Hall Stud.

Bred in Great Britain by Oppenheimer’s Hascombe and Valiant Studs, Golden Horn is out of the unraced Dubai Destination mare Fleche d’Or, whose other foal to race is Eastern Belle, a stakes winner in England and a Grade 2-placed runner in the U.S.

Golden Horn hails from the family of Group 1 winner Rebecca Sharp and Group 3 winners Mystic Knight and Brocco Babe.
