Golden Gate: Tracy heading back to Canada after successful invasion

Greg Tracy is moving his barn north of the border to run at Hastings in British Columbia and also at Northlands Park in Edmonton, which opens in May. He won’t leave empty-handed, however. Tracy wound up his first visit to Golden Gate Fields with 3 wins, 2 seconds and a third from 14 starters.
“Next year, I’m coming back down with a few more horses,” he said.
Tracy won two races last Thursday, saddling Gimme Datt to a victory in a $12,500 claimer and Sunday Headline to win a maiden race on the turf. Gimme Datt will go back with Tracy to Canada, but Sunday Headline will stay at Golden Gate.
“He seems to run well on the turf so I’m leaving him here with Tim McCanna,” said Tracy.
◗ Case Cracker, a 2-year-old Margie’s Wildcat filly, won the meet’s first 2-year-old race last Friday and set a track record for two furlongs. Trained by Steve Specht, Case Cracker covered the distance in 21.20, bettering Brown Is Beige’s track record of 21.32.
