Press Camp ($4), under Dennis Carr, narrowly defeated Bai and Bai in the $51,100 San Ramon Stakes at Golden Gate Fields.

Stretching out for the first time, Press Camp set the pace with Bai and Bai sitting close to her throughout the one-mile race for 3-year-old fillies. Bai and Bai challenged Press Camp in the lane, but Press Camp held her off. The finish was so close that Carr, apparently thinking Press Camp had lost, congratulated Roberto Gonzalez aboard Bai and Bai.

"She's so game. When that other filly came to her, she really dug in," Carr said. "She had hold of the bit really hard early, but she seemed relaxed. She's got no quit in her."

"She lost just as tough a photo last time," winning trainer Billy Morey said of a nose loss to Victorina in the Eire Go Brach on March 17. "We got lucky at the line, but she was game to stay there."

Press Camp earned $29,000 to lift her earnings to $99,830 with her fourth victory in eight starts.
