Golden Gate conducting ShowVivor contest during fall meet

Golden Gate Fields is offering a $1,000 prize during its upcoming fall meeting with an online handicapping contest it calls ShowVivor.

Fans must pick one horse that shows (finishes first, second or third) each day during the 36-day fall meeting, which opens Thursday, Oct. 17. Fans continue to play in the sudden-death contest until they fail to pick a horse that shows.

The player who survives the most racing days will win the ShowVivor winner-take-all prize of $1,000.

Fans must register for the contest by 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Golden Gate Fields website, www.goldengatefields.com. ShowVivor selections must be registered 10 minutes before the first race of each racing day at the website. Contestants failing to make a selection before the daily deadline are eliminated. If the selected horse is a late scratch, the contestant’s selection becomes the favorite in that race.
Full rules and information are available at the Golden Gate website.
