Godolphin's Sakhee wins Arc

Godolphin Racing's Sakhee stamped himself as a possible Breeders' Cup Turf contender Saturday when he won the Group 1, $1.4 million Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe by six lengths at Longchamp in Paris, France.

Frankie Dettori rode Sakhee to victory in the 17-horse field for the 100th Group 1 victory of his career. Sakhee won the 12-furlong classic in a time of 2:36.10 over a yielding turf course. The race was the seventh led in the 12-race Emirates Racing Series. Aquarelliste was second, Sagacity was third, and Golan was fourth.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said the Breeders' Cup Turf could be a possibility for Sakhee's next start.
