Godolphin filly looks strong

Loving Kindness will try to give Godolphin a third successive victory in the $200,000 Moonshell Mile at Nad Al Sheba on Thursday night.

Last year as a 2-year-old, Loving Kindness won the Group 3 Prix de Cabourg and was third in the Group 1 Prix Morny, both against colts going six furlongs. A mile, however, should not be a problem for Loving Kindness, who runs for Godolphin along with Ashraaf, Danuta, and Lady Catherine, who won the Group 3 Premio Dormello.

Purchased from the Niarchos Family last fall along with French Derby winner Sulamani, Loving Kindness is a daughter of Seattle Slew and Machiavellian's half-sister Coup de Genie.

A prep for the March 13 UAE 1000 Guineas, the Moonshell Mile is listed as a "prestige race," and it was won the last two years by the outstanding fillies Imperial Gesture and Muwakleh.

Looking to spoil Godolphin's fun are the Eoin Harty-trained Festival Queen, recent winner of the Moonshell Mile Prep, and the dangerous Escania, a Southern Hemisphere 3-year-old from Chile.

On the same card, Saeed bin Suroor will saddle six for Godolphin in a one-mile maiden race. Four of those, Alajwad, Moomba, Parhelion, and Sylvanite, are Triple Crown nominees.
