Glorification spring wire job

Glorification ($14.80) jumped to the lead and was never headed, beating stablemate Storming Starlet by two lengths in the $50,650 Tiburon at Golden Gate.

In winning her second straight start, Glorification stayed clear of Storming Starlet as the pair ran one-two every step of the six-furlong race. The time was 1:09.34. Odds-on Quite a Rush was third, four lengths behind Storming Starlet.

"I just told them not to get in each other's way," winning trainer Jerry Hollendorfer said of the prerace instructions he gave to Jason Lumpkins, who rode the winner, and Dennis Carr, who rode Storming Starlet.

"Glorification is very fast, and that played into her winning today."

Lumpkins was confident all the way. "I only hit her three times to keep her mind on business because she was looking at the people in the grandstand," he said.

Hollendorfer said that Glorification and Black Pulpit, who finished fourth as his third entrant in the race, would likely come back in the $100,000 California Oaks at 1o1/16 miles on Feb. 10.

Glorification earned $28,150 for her second win in three starts. A $70,000 purchase at last year's May Barretts sale, she has earned $50,650.
