Castleton Lyons in Lexington, Ky., released its advertised stud fees for the 2018 breeding season, with both Gio Ponti and Justin Phillip standing for $5,000. Gio Ponti stood the previous season for an advertised fee of $7,500. The 12-year-old Tale of the Cat horse is led this year by 2016 champion sprinter Drefong, who won the Grade 1 Forego Stakes. Sir Dudley Digges, the 2016 Queen’s Plate winner, also won a stakes race this season. The fee for Justin Phillip, a 9-year-old son of First Samurai, will be unchanged from the previous season.
