Gig Harbor to Victory Rose Thoroughbreds in California

Multiple stakes winner Gig Harbor will make his stallion debut in 2014 at Victory Rose Thoroughbreds in Vacaville, Calif. for an advertised fee of $1,500, BloodHorse reports.

The 5-year-old son of City Zip won five of nine starts during his racing career for earnings of $143,300. Racing in both Southern and Northern California, Gig Harbor won the Alcatraz Stakes and Oakland Stakes at Golden Gate, and finished third in the Harry Henson Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Bred in Kentucky by Ann Marie Farm, Gig Harbor was trained by Steven Specht and will stand as the property of owner Daniel O’Neill.

Gig Harbor is out of winning St. Jovite mare Miss Blue Grass, whose five winners from six foals to race also includes stakes winner Alsono and stakes-placed My Lil Shamrock. A second-generation member of the Ann Marie Farm breeding program, his second dam is the Grade 3 winner Daloma.

Gig Harbor joins Bold Chieftan, Globalize, Idiot Proof, Indian Evening, Many Rivers, and Sea of Secrets on the Victory Rose stallion roster.
