Gervinho relocating within California

Grade 2 winner Gervinho will relocate to Legacy Ranch in Clements, Calif., for the 2016 breeding season and will stand for an advertised fee of $3,500. The 6-year-old son of Unusual Heat debuted at stud in 2015, standing at Tommy Town Thoroughbreds in Santa Ynez, Calif., for the same fee.

"Gervinho is absolutely gorgeous physically and has so much to offer California breeders," said bloodstock agent Gayle Van Leer, who will manage the stallion.

Gervinho won four of nine starts for earnings of $422,140, highlighted by wins in the Grade 2 Sir Beaufort Stakes, the listed Zuma Beach Stakes, and the Oceanside Stakes. He also finished in the money in the Grade 2 Del Mar Derby and Twilight Derby.

Bred in California by Barry Abrams and Madeline Auerbach, Gervinho is out of the unplaced Out of Place mare Foreverinthegame, whose three foals are all winners, including the Grade 3-placed stakes winner and fellow young California stallion Lakerville. His extended family includes Grade 2 winner Memorette and Panamanian champion Sanky Panky.
