New York-based owners and breeders Patricia and Frank Generazio not only watched homebreds Pure Sensation and Disco Partner run one-two, separated by a neck, in the Grade 3 Jaipur Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park – they watched Pure Sensation establish a North American and course record, completing the six furlongs on turf in 1:06.76.

It was the third stakes victory for Pure Sensation, a Florida-bred son of Zensational who also won the Grade 3 Turf Monster last September at Parx. The Generazios bred and raced his dam, multiple stakes winner Pure Disco, and his grandam, the winner V for Vera, whom Frank also trained.

“Mr. and Mrs. Generazio have been a longtime supporter of the stable,” trainer Christophe Clement said. “They are great owners and breeders, and I think it was a great result for them.”

Disco Partner, who won an allowance race at Belmont off a long layoff prior to the Jaipur, is trained by James Ryerson. The New York-bred son of the late Disco Rico also comes from a family developed by the Generazios, who bred and raced both his dam and grandam.
