CITRONNADE is a perfect three for three in Southern California, and she absolutely ran her rivals into the ground last time out in the Santa Ana Handicap. She was defeated by VACARE last fall in the Queen Elizabeth II Cup at Keeneland, but has the home field advantage this time, and may shake loose on the lead here. VACARE was sold for $2.6 Million after winning the QE II, and her sporting owners decided to race the unbeaten Grade 1 winner in 2007. She rewarded them with a sharp victory in fast time at Gulfstream on April 1, and may be in closest attendance to the top selection going into the final turn. Vacare has shown a tremendous amount of ability in her short career, but it will be interesting to see how well she ships. THREE DEGREES hasn't raced since early January, but she's put up some big numbers on the turf, and will be a nice price on Monday. She likes to come from off the pace, however, and the fractions up front may not be quick enough to adequately setup her stretch kick. PRICE TAG is undefeated in the United States, and she showed a strong late kick to win the Matriarch last year. She may sit the perfect pace-tracking, ground-saving trip from the inside post position.
