Los Alamitos will run four stakes during its eight-day winter meeting in December, including two Grade 1 races for 2-year-olds.

The Los Alamitos CashCall Futurity and the Starlet Stakes, both Grade 1, $300,000 races at 1 1/16 miles, will highlight the Dec. 10 program. The Los Alamitos Futurity had a purse of $350,000-guaranteed in 2015.

The meeting will be held from Dec. 8-18, making it one week shorter than last year. The track also had four stakes during the 2015 winter meeting.

This year, the Los Alamitos Futurity will have CashCall as its title sponsor for the first time since the race was run at Hollywood Park from 2007 to 2013, the year the track closed. Prior to that, the race was known as the Hollywood Futurity.

Last year, Los Alamitos officials expressed doubt the Starlet could be run this year for financial reasons. There were preliminary discussions about moving the race to another venue, but track officials said over the summer that the race would be funded and remain at Los Alamitos.

The final weekend of the upcoming winter meeting has two $100,000 stakes for California-bred 2-year-olds at a mile – the King Glorious Stakes for colts and geldings on Dec. 17, and the Soviet Problem Stakes for fillies on Dec. 18.

Post times will be 1 p.m. on weekdays and 12:30 p.m. on weekends.
