LEXINGTON, Ky. – Frivolous, an impressive winner at Keeneland in her 4-year-old debut Sunday, will remain on Polytrack by racing next in the Grade 3 Matron on May 24 at Arlington Park, said trainer Vicki Oliver.

“It looks like she’s finally putting it all together,” said Oliver, who trains Frivolous for her father, G. Watts Humphrey Jr. “She was rather inconsistent in some of her races last year but really trained well over the winter.”

After winning a maiden race last June on the Churchill Downs turf, Frivolous, a homebred by Empire Maker, ran in five straight stakes to conclude her 3-year-old campaign, with her best finish being a second in the Arlington Oaks on Polytrack.

Ridden by Jimmy Graham, Frivolous earned an 82 Beyer Speed Figure in drawing off to win by 4 1/4 lengths Sunday when dropped into a first-level allowance at 1 1/8 miles.

◗ Turfway Park has eliminated the public relations/marketing position occupied for the last 11 years by Sherry Pinson.

Pinson long has been a favorite among horseplayers and media members. The Horseplayer Association of North America said this about her on its Twitter feed: “She was incredibly passionate about her racetrack.”

◗ Tickets for $150 each remain on sale for one of the most entertaining events of Kentucky Derby, the Derby Trainers’ Dinner at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Louisville on April 29. More information is available at (859) 259-1643.
