'Friends' names 5 to council


Friends of New York Racing, the racing lobbying group, has added five members to its Business Advisory Council, the group announced Tuesday. The new members are: Daniel F. Collins, a horse owner and vice president of corporate communications for Corning Inc.; Humberto Chavez, the racetrack chaplain at Aqueduct, Belmont, and Saratoga; James T. Maney, the executive director of New York Council on Problem Gaming Inc.; Jonathan Sheppard, a trainer and the president of the National Steeplechase Association; and Dr. Dean DeLuke, a horse owner and oral surgeon and a former board member of a dental political action committee.
