Freud to stand 2014 season for $10,000


Becky Thomas's Sequel Stallions in Hudson, N.Y., has released the fees for its 2014 stallion roster, with all returning stallions remaining at their 2013 levels.

Perennial leading New York sire Freud will stand for an advertised fee of $10,000. The 15-year-old son of Storm Cat is the sire of nine crops of racing age; his top runners are led by Grade 1 winners Giant Ryan and Franny Freud.

Mission Impazible, who stood his first season in 2013, will command a fee of $7,500. A 6-year-old son of Unbridled’s Song, Mission Impazible won three of 21 starts for earnings of $1,284,949, highlighted by wins in the Grade 2 Louisiana Derby and New Orleans Handicap.

Darley will once again stand Desert Party at Sequel for a fee of $7,500, and he will be joined by the recently retired Emcee, who will also stand for $7,500.

Noble Causeway, an 11-year-old Giant’s Causeway horse, will stand for a private fee.
