Fresh horse for the course

Unreachable Star will try to keep his perfect record at Indiana Downs intact when he heads a field of 12 Indiana-bred and -sired horses in the $70,000 William Henry Harrison at six furlongs.

Trained by Tim Glyshaw, Unreachable Star has worked very well for his 2009 debut in the Harrison.

"He is doing great," Glyshaw said. "His last work was last Saturday and was much faster than any others that day. He has not been a great work horse, so for him to go like that, I think he must be getting better with age.

Unreachable Star, now 5, is 2 for 2 at Indiana Downs and won the A.J. Foyt here last July. He also won the $100,000 Gus Grissom going 1 1/16 miles last October at Hoosier Park.

"He is better at longer distances,' Glyshaw said, "but because this is a sired stakes, I think we have a big shot. It looks like there is plenty of speed to run at, and his come-from -off-of-it style should suit him fine."

Leading jockey Orlando Mojica will ride.

Liepers Fork won the Harrison last year, but has been winless since. A return to restricted company might be the key to him breaking out of his slump. Julio Felix gets the return mount.
