French Park wins the Grade 2, $222,200 Golden Rod Stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday.

Under a sensational ride from Mark Guidry, favored French Park ($5.40) rallied from well behind to be up in the last few jumps to remain unbeaten by winning the Grade 2, $222,200 , the sister race to the KJC.

She Says It Best appeared to have the race in her grasp after putting away Beau Dare turning for home, but she couldn't withstand the steady rally that a patient Guidry had commenced aboard French Park leaving the half-mile pole.

Helen Pitts is the trainer of French Park, a gray 2-year-old filly from the first crop of Ecton Park.

"Down the backside I was a little worried that she took herself out of it," said Pitts. "Gid said when he called on her, she was there."

She Says It Best finished three-quarters of a length behind the winner and 2 1/2 lengths ahead of another Pitts-trained filly, Lady Danza. The early scratch of Sabatini left a field of eight.

French Park, a winner of all three starts, finished 1 1/16 miles in 1:47.26. She will head to Gulfstream Park in mid-December with about 25 other Pitts horses.

* Injustice ($22.80) got a perfect trip under Eddie Martin Jr. to upset the $71,800 Dream Supreme for trainer Wayne Catalano. Savorthe-time finished second and Ten Carat Ruby was third in the 6 1/2-furlong overnight stakes.
