Some Renditions (pace) and Chaperess (trot) won the pair of $50,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes/Standardbred Development Fund finals for 2-year-olds that were raced on Friday afternoon at Freehold Raceway. Driven by Vinny Ginsburg, Some Renditions cleared Solitary (Steve Smith) for the top beyond the 27 3/5 opening quarter in the pacing tilt, and after middle-half stations of 56 3/5 and 1:26, Some Renditions closed with a 29 3/5 final panel to win the event by 4 3/4 lengths in 1:55 3/5.  Solitary held second, and Lainey Deo (Pat Lachance) came in third. Mike Hall trains Some Renditions, a daughter of Somebeachsomewhere, for owners Ctc Stable, Howard Taylor, and Brad Grant.  This was her third win from 11 career starts, and she has now earned $67,816.  She was sent off at 13-1 and paid $29.60 to win. In the trotting test Maria Deo (Smith) had control through stations of 30 3/5, 1:00 4/5, and 1:29 4/5, but she gave way in the lane with second-over Chaperess (George Brennan) rallying to the lead and the win by a length in 1:59 4/5.  Diamondstone Us (Lachance) came up the passing lane from the two-hole to finish in the runner-up position, and Samis Rolin Stone (Dewayne Minor) checked in third after a first-up trip. The victorious Chapter Seven filly is trained by Trond Smedshammer for owner Purple Haze Stables LLC.  Chaperess is now a six-time winner from ten efforts, and she has banked $63,750.  She was the even-money favorite and returned $4.00 to win.
