Frankel gets 140 rating for Juddmonte International win

Frankel, who stretched his unbeaten streak to 13 with a convincing win in the Group 1 Juddmonte International Stakes at York on Wednesday, has been given an official rating of 140 for the second time in his career.

Frankel was given a 140 rating after his win in the Queen Anne Stakes over a mile at Royal Ascot in June and was awarded the same mark for his seven-length win in the Juddmonte over 1 1/4 miles. He is the first horse to be assigned 140 at two distances.

Official ratings are assigned by Phil Smith, the British Horseracing Authority’s head of handicapping.

On Thursday, it was unclear where Frankel would make his next start. British bookmakers were taking bets on his next race, with the Champion Stakes at Ascot on Oct. 20 the 2-5 favorite over the Arc de Triomphe, which was listed at 5-2.

Don't see how you can make that kind of a statement, Dancing Brave as a 3yo only ran twice over 1m (he also won twice over 1 mile as a 2yo), He won the Craven before going on to win the Guineas, His win over Green Desert is certainly better form than Frankels win over Dubawi Gold (i have no doubt GD would beat DG in a 1 mile race) Now as for 10f DB only ran it twice too, Beating Triptych 4L in the Eclipse, Triptych is a much better horse than either Farhh or Sir Nicholas Abbey, Plus DB won his Eclipse as a 3yo taking on older horses. He also won his Arc trail in the Select Stakes 10f. Now im a huge fan of Frankel and he may well beat DB over 1m but as Dancing Brave moved up in trip we have no real idea as to how good he would have been if he's stayed at a mile. Frankels 2 best career performances were this year as a 4yo, Trying to compare a horses early 3yo form over 8 & 10f runs with a 4yo is pathetic.

The big black bold numbers. They are right there, in your face at all times. The road to riches for horse players. Nobody can win without them. (says the DRF - lol) (More sarcasm and joking)

Nobody in the world can have a thought about a horse race unless the studdering genius Andy Beyer and his crew confirms it with their figures. What's wrong with you people? I thought everybody knew that. (PeterG scratching head) (More sarcasm and joking) ha ha

The horse is nothing unless the great Andy Beyer and his crew give him a speed figure. He can never be considered great unless Andy Beyer says he is. (sarcasm) (That was a joke, a huge joke, just like Beyer speed figures are a joke) LOL

What I don't get is that Andy doesn't seem to consider weight allowances whe rating the performances of horse..????
