Frankel, Castellano strike again

A day after teaming up to win the $4 million Breeders' Cup Classic at Lone Star Park with Ghostzapper, trainer Bobby Frankel and jockey Javier Castellano won the Grade 3, $111,200 at Aqueduct with Mass Media.

Unlike Ghostzapper, the Classic favorite, Mass Media returned a generous $18.60 in the seven-furlong Sport Page as the 3 1/2-length winner over Lion Tamer. It was another two lengths back to Gygistar.

Mass Media pressed the pacesetter, Voodoo, through lively fractions before grabbing the lead at the top of the stretch. The final time was a swift 1:21.10 over a fast track. Mass Media carried 113 pounds, seven fewer than Gygistar, the highweight and 2-1 favorite.

* Finery ($15.20) defeated Madeira Mist by a half-length in the Grade 3, $115,700 Athenia Handicap.

Ridden by Pablo Fragoso, Finery saved ground while racing in fifth down the backstretch of the 1 1/16-mile grass race. Fragoso angled Finery to the outside in the stretch and Finery overtook the pacesetter, Madeira Mist. With Patience, who pressed the pace, finished third, a neck behind the runner-up.

The favorite, Snowdrops, was fourth in the 11-horse field of fillies and mares.
