Four fillies go in 10.20 for Fasig-Tipton sale

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Four fillies posted the fastest eighth-mile time of 10.20 seconds Saturday at Fasig-Tipton's under-tack show for its March 2 Calder select 2-year-old sale in Miami.

The four were Hip No. 90, a Dixie Union-Icy Demeanor filly consigned by W.D. North Thoroughbreds, agent; Hip No. 179, a Sharp Humor-Secret Hills filly consigned by Scanlon Training Center, agent; Hip No. 197, an Awesome Again-Stop the Lights filly that Harris Training Center, agent, consigns; and Hip No. 227, a Yes It's True-Val Marie filly also from the Scanlon Training Center.

The fastest eighth-mile time on the turf course was the 10.40-second time that a Street Cry filly and colts by Silver Train and Tale of the Cat put up. Those performers were Hip No. 10, a Silver Train-Annacious colt consigned by Off the Hook, agent; Hip No. 24, a Street Cry-Bubbling Heights filly consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, agent; and Hip No. 152, a Tale of the Cat-One and Twenty colt that King's Equine, agent, has consigned.

The best quarter-mile time, on the main track, was the 21.40 seconds that Hip No. 175 worked. The Sky Mesa filly is out of Saintly Magic and is offered by Off the Hook, agent.

The auction, like the under-tack preview, will take place at Calder Race Course. The sale begins Tuesday at 11 a.m.
