Foret a big test for Amonita

Amonita may run in the Breeders' Cup Mile if she performs well in Sunday's Group 1 Prix de la Foret, a seven-furlong race at Longchamp.

A daughter of Anabaa and trained by Pascal Bary, she was France's champion 2-year-old filly last season but has struggled to find her form this year. Beaten in four group races this spring and summer, she regained her winning touch with a handy 2 1/2-length score three weeks ago in the listed Prix du Pin versus older colts over the Foret course and distance.

Bary says that Amonita will be pre-entered in the Mile only if she acquits herself well on Sunday.

Standing in her way in the Foret is a revivified China Visit. A Godolphin runner, China Visit proved his love of soft ground just eight days ago when he beat Jim and Tonic in the one-mile Group 2 Prix du Rond-Point. China Visit, who switches from Frankie Dettori to Jamie Spencer, is a danger to take them all the way on the front end.
