A Forest Wildcat filly had the fastest eighth-mile work Sunday at the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s first preview for 2-year-olds selling at its March select auction on March 18-19.

The Forest Wildcat filly, a dark bay or brown daughter of Seeking Success, breezed the eighth in 9.80 seconds. She is a half-sister to the winner Boldly Go and will sell as Hip No. 65.

The day’s fastest quarter-mile workers covered that distance in 21.20 seconds. They were Hip No. 4, a Put It Back-Pat’s Sister colt; Hip No. 29, a Lion Heart-Prosper colt, a half-brother to multiple graded-placed Mahzouz; and Hip No. 45, a Pure Prize-Revealing Blush colt.

Sunday’s under-tack show was for Hip Nos. 1-230, which are cataloged to sell at the March 18 opening session; Hip Nos. 231-460, which sell on March 19, were to work Monday. The under-tack show began Sunday after being postponed from its original dates of March 7-8 due to high winds and flooding rains in the Ocala area.

The second and final pair of under-tack sessions will take place March 14-15, beginning each day at 9 a.m. All under-tack shows are at the OBS facility in Ocala, Fla.
