Forest Mouse tops one-two-three finish for Dominguez in Premier Sprint

Forest Mouse, with Enrique Gomez up, earns his 10th career stakes victory in the Premier Sprint.

Horses trained by Henry Dominguez swept the trifecta in the $50,000 Premier Sprint Handicap on Sunday at Zia Park, with Forest Mouse a neck winner over Get a Notion, and Five Palms another half-length back in third. The race was the first stakes of the meet that opened on Saturday.

Redneck Humor, who was favored while seeking his third stakes victory of the year, finished fourth.

Forest Mouse ($17.20) was winning the 10th stakes race of his career on Sunday. He turned back from 1 1/8 miles and managed to win the six-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up in a swift 1:08.60.

Enrique Gomez was aboard Forest Mouse for Solitaire Stable.

Forest Mouse has now won 21 races from 51 career starts and with the $30,000 first-place check Sunday improved his earnings to $788, 227. Forest Mouse is a son of Teton Forest and was bred in Kentucky by E H Beau Lane III.

The $1 trifecta paid $196.80. The winning numbers were 2-4-5.
