Equix, a Lexington, Ky.-based bloodstock analysis firm, has appointed Fletcher Mauk as an Equine Analyst.

Fletcher, a native of Lexington, has over 14 years of experience as a trainer, pinhooker, breeder, and advisor under his operation Small Batch Thoroughbreds.

“We are excited at Equix to have Fletcher on our team,” the firm’s president Suzanne Smallwood said. “His expertise and hands-on experience offers our clients a highly regarded resource to complement our innovative and proven approach to bloodstock analysis.”

Mauk will perform structural, cardio, and high-speed digital analysis of Thoroughbred racing prospects for Equix and will assist clients with breeding decisions using the company’s OptiMatch genetic identification program.

“Equix is a one of a kind bloodstock group that created the 21st century model for discovering Thoroughbred racing and breeding potential,” Mauk said. “I am thrilled for the opportunity to work with the organization responsible for identifying Behrens, Big Brown, Flower Alley, and Shadowbdancing, among others.”
