Flashy Bull to stand at Airdrie


Grade 1 winner Flashy Bull, retired earlier this month, will enter stud at Mr. and Mrs. Brereton C. Jones's Airdrie Stud in Midway, Ky.

Flashy Bull, a 4-year-old Holy Bull colt, will stand for $10,000 in 2008.

Flashy Bull's victory in the Stephen Foster Handicap made him the first Grade 1 winner for the West Point Stable public syndicate, which owns him During his three-season career, Flashy Bull also won the Grade 3 William Donald Schaefer Handicap and placed in three other graded stakes, with seconds in the 2006 Fountain of Youth and 2005 Remsen and a third in the 2006 Ohio Derby, all Grade 2 events.

He retired in early August after fracturing a sesamoid bone, an injury trainer Kiaran McLaughlin believed probably happened in the July 28 Whitney. Flashy Bull finished seventh in that race, his last.

Flashy Bull retired with a career record of 5 wins, 5 seconds, and 3 thirds from 19 starts. He earned $844,313.

Bred in Kentucky by Jerry and Liz Squyers, Flashy Bull is out of the Mt. Livermore winner Iridescence. He is a half-brother to stakes-winner Pink Viper.
