Five correct pays $6,792

The Magna 5 pick five wager Saturday, with a lone longshot winner out of the five races, paid $6,792.20 to 69 winning ticket-holders. The $2 bet linked five races from Laurel, Gulfstream, and Santa Anita, including four of the Sunshine Millions stakes.

All three tracks are owned by Magna Entertainment Corp., and the races involved went off within the span of slightly more than an hour.

The bet's first leg went to Promenade Girl ($2.80) in the Nellie Morse Stakes at Laurel. She was followed by four Sunshine Millions winners: House of Fortune ($6.80) in the Distaff, Moscow Burning ($4.60) in the Filly and Mare Turf, Miesque's Approval ($99.60) in the Turf, and Lava Man ($7.80) in the Classic.

The Distaff and Turf were run at Gulfstream, the Filly and Mare Turf and Classic at Santa Anita.

The Magna 5 pool, which was guaranteed at $500,000, drew $605,218 at the betting windows. The Magna 5 last year that included the Sunshine Millions races, capped by the $142.20 payoff of Musique Toujours in the Classic, paid $406,985.80 to a single ticket-holder.

The bet is slated again for next Saturday, with the first leg again at Laurel.
