Grade 1 winner Gemologist, standing his first season at WinStar Farm in Versailles, Ky., has had his first mares confirmed in foal.
The 4-year-old's first mare scanned in foal was Merry Me in Spring. Gemologist—who stands alongside his sire Tiznow at WinStar—quickly had two other mares confirmed in foal, making him three-for-three on his earliest mares covered.
Merry Me in Spring, a 12-year-old Wekiva Springs mare, was a stakes winner and earned $134,260. Her only starter to date is So Brilliant, winner of the 2011 Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes as a juvenile.
Merry Me in Spring is out of the stakes-winning Silver Deputy mare Merry Deputy, dam of seven winners from as many starters.
Campaigned by WinStar, Gemologist won the first five starts of his career, including the Grade 1 Wood Memorial Stakes. Also the winner of the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes as a juvenile, he retired with earnings of $794,855.
Gemologist, who is out of the unraced Mr. Prospector mare Crystal Shard, is standing his first season at WinStar for a fee of $15,000.
