First foal by Naughty New Yorker born in Canada

The first reported foal by graded stakes-winning millionaire Naughty New Yorker is a colt born on March 6 at Ascot Stud near Port Colborne, Ont., where the stallion stands.

The colt is the first foal out of Top of the Tree, a winning Crypto Star mare. Out of the winning Air Forbes One mare Glass Tree, Top of the Tree is a half-sister to stakes winner Off The Glass.

Naughty New Yorker, New York's Horse of the Year in 2007, scored his graded victory in the Grade 3 Red Smith Handicap in 2006 at Aqueduct. He won 10 other stakes races on the New York circuit and placed in 18 others, including a third-place effort in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile Handicap in 2007. In all, he won 12 of 67 career starts, retiring with $1,089,884 in earnings.

The 11-year-old Quiet American horse stands for a fee of $1,500 Canadian funds at Ascot Stud.

This is a bargain for this stud. He was a grinder with a lot of class when at his best and if he passes that along his get will be entertaining to watch.
