First foal by Custom for Carlos arrives in Kentucky


Custom for Carlos was represented by his first foal on Jan. 15, a colt born at Dell Ridge Farm near Lexington, Ky.

The colt is out of the winning Peace Rules mare Bhangaloo Ruby, who is a half-sister to three winners, including stakes-placed Britten's Beauty. Bhangaloo Ruby’s dam, Long Gone Lady, is a half-sister to graded stakes winner and producer Erica's Dream; stakes winner Twosies Answer, dam of champion Answer Lively; and multiple stakes producer Spring Hill Answer. It is the family of stakes winner and sire Briartic.

Custom for Carlos, a 7-year-old More Than Ready horse, won six of 15 career starts, earning $483,865. He was a three-time Grade 3 winner, taking the Jersey Shore Stakes at Monmouth, the Mr. Prospector Stakes at Gulfstream, and the Count Fleet Handicap at Oaklawn. He won or placed in a total of eight stakes events.

Custom for Carlos, who is out of the Meadowlake mare Meadow Oaks, stands at Clear Creek Stud in Folsom, La. for a fee of $3,500 live foal, or $3,000 if paid by Sept. 1 of the year bred.
