First arrivals hit Lone Star for the Cup

The first flight bearing horses for the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships arrived at Lone Star Park, near Dallas, from Lexington, Ky., on Monday morning. The shipment included Magistretti for the Turf and Sense of Style and Culinary for the Juvenile Fillies.

The 21st Breeders' Cup, to be run Oct. 30, will be the first held in Texas.

Patrick Biancone trains Magistretti and Sense of Style. In addition to those horses, he sent two others for undercard stakes and a pony. Biancone was due in town Tuesday. Michael Stidham trains Culinary.

A second shipment of horses was scheduled to arrive Tuesday. That flight was to include Kitten's Joy for the Turf, Roses in May and Dynever for the Classic, Wonder Again for the Filly and Mare Turf, Afleet Alex for the Juvenile, and Indy Groove for the Distaff.

Crimson Palace, who is to start in the Filly and Mare Turf, was to be flown to Lone Star from New York on Wednesday.

Kitten's Joy, Roses in May, and Sense of Style are all tentatively scheduled to work on Saturday.
