Sundae On Sunday erased a 3 1/2-length deficit in the final furlong to win Saturday’s $50,000 Ontario County for New York-bred 3-year-olds at Finger Lakes.

Ridden by Dennis Carr for trainer Michael Ferraro, Sundae On Sunday ($3.50) was fifth after a half-mile in 44.81 seconds and had moved up to only fourth, 3 1/2 lengths in back of El Grande Patron, at the eighth pole. Despite drifting in while rallying, Sundae On Sunday proved best by 2 1/4 lengths while completing the six furlongs in 1:12.18.

It was the third win in five starts for Sundae On Sunday, a son of Chief Seattle owned by Jeffrey Tucker and Very Un Stable.

El Grande Patron, who owned a 1 1/2-length advantage at the eighth pole, held on for second, 2 ½ lengths clear of 14-1 shot Bruce’s Choice.
