Finger Lakes: Lisa's Booby Trap top horse of 2011 season

Barbara D. Livingston
Lisa's Booby Trap, with owner/trainer Tim Snyder, won 5 of 6 starts at Finger Lakes this season.

The 4-year-old filly Lisa’s Booby Trap was named the top horse of the 2011 meet at the annual Finger Lakes Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association awards dinner on Saturday night.

Owned and trained by Tim Snyder, who bought her for $4,500 despite the fact she is blind in one eye and has a club foot, Lisa’s Booby Trap won 5 of 6 starts at Finger Lakes this season, including two victories against males.

She also recorded the fastest six-furlong time of the meet when she defeated an open allowance field by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:09.71 on July 11.

In her only loss at her home track this year, Lisa’s Booby Trap was beaten by Tamarind Hall, who went on to score a graded stakes victory at Aqueduct in her next start.

Lisa’s Booby Trap also won the award for best allowance female.
