Finger Lakes calls off Thursday card to resurface track

Finger Lakes has canceled Thursday's card of live racing in order to give the track’s maintenance crew time to resurface the racing surface. ... Dr. Scot Waterman, the former executive director of the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium, has been hired by the Arizona Department of Racing on a consultant basis as the department’s Animal Medical and Welfare Advisor, according to the department. As the advisor, Waterman will provide assistance to department personnel on matters pertaining to equine welfare and racing medication policies, according to Lonny Powell, the director of the department.
